Thanks to Sébastien Paquet for featuring me in this wonderful series. To see his fine work click HERE
Also, much love and respect to my best buddy KC Haxton for always being a part of the imagery in my life.
On Saturday Jan 15, 2010 I did a little off site NAMM presentation for Blast Cult (the new company making my upright basses). It was the unveiling of their new name and a super fun event. The sound quality doesn’t represent the low end I was producing but I figured I’d throw it up anyway as I rarely do solo performances, or talk about the history between me and my bass very often.
First solo starts around 2:48

These are two videos of me playing with Jonathan Davis in the UK. These videos are really slick, I like that.

I’m very touched that this wonderful fan from Puerto Rico decided to add my song in what is obviously a little bit of much needed meditation in the middle of Los Angeles.
Here’s a little clip from a concert my good friend and tenor saxophonist Kamasi Washington put on at LACMA. It was a beautiful sold out audience on a nice day in Los Angeles. Rapper/Actor Common came down to the see Kamasi and sent out a nice tweet about him “Kamasi Washington QUINTET! These young guys reminds me of why I LOVE MUSIC!” – Common

Here are some YouTube videos that are now circulating from the Afroshoto performance. Again, it’s so awesome to hear the band wailing underneath street fighter footage!!
Here is some unique footage from the AfroShoto event. What you’re seeing is people playing Super Street Fighter 4 live, with the I Got Next film score “AfroShoto” replacing the in-game music. It was a really fun event and we look forward to doing many more. It is a joy to hear my and Kamasi Washington’s music underneath it all because composing music for video games is a passion of mine.
Enjoy,
