+magic: Los Angeles marks the beginning of a powerful trilogy from Miles Mosley, released on his new imprint, BEAM Records.
Recorded across Los Angeles, and other parts of the world to be announced, the trilogy explores the deep pulse of three musical cultures shaped by ancestral rhythm. Each album captures the spirit of its environment—its cadence, its chaos, its soul—channeling into a fusion of raw emotion, trance-like vocal lines, and fierce instrumental performance. At the heart of it all is Miles’ singular voice on the upright bass: a thunderous, evocative force that bends tradition into something elemental and new.

The albums will be released in limited, hand-customized vinyl editions—500 copies per volume, direct to listener. No two covers alike, never to be reprinted. Streaming and box set release will follow the final installment, preserving the trilogy’s initial mystery for those who hold the wax first.

If you are holding this album, you hold a piece of art—made by heart, by hand—something that means a great deal to me. A testament to my independence, to my belief that in this age of the disposable, art can and should stand as a rarity. “Rare” not as a barrier to keep the people out, but as a fleeting, sacred meeting between the creator and The Creator—one brief exchange that we behold forever.

+magic: Los Angeles is the first in a series of albums about spontaneity and human connection. Art without formula, without expectation. Analog. A shared exploration, a devotion to the freedom of the moment.

This album cover shows me standing on an overpass above the 10 Freeway, offering the city I love its flowers. To be born in L.A. is to inherit a freeway as a birthright. Much of the duality I’ve known in this city unfolds on either side of that concrete river, and in that moment—bigger than I may yet understand—I gave thanks for the road that carried me.

The next day, and for 24 days after, the city was ablaze.
